Harry Spitz is a Fine Art Photographer. He creates images of startling clarity and imagination. He photographs a wide variety of subjects always adding his unique vision and technical excellence. His work is best described as High Definition though he does not limit himself to any one style. He believes that photographs should go way beyond a mere representation of reality. They should take the viewer to a place he has never been before.
Harry Spitz has been a professional photographer for over 40 years. After studying Fine Art Photography for two years at UCLA, he attended Art Center College of Design where he earned a BFA in photography in 1969. Upon graduation, he worked as an assistant to many famous photographers before starting his own business.
Harry is a multitalented photographer. As well as working as a fine art photographer he works as a wedding and portrait photographer and a teacher of Photoshop. He has also worked as a production still photographer on commercials and movies, an advertising photographer, an aerial photographer, and an underwater photographer. He has photographed many famous actors on commercials and for advertisements. He has currently made 7 books containing his new photographs and is soon going to launch a Kickstarter program to publish the first of these a photographic exploration of Depression. All of the books are currently available by special order if you email requesting info on the books. Most of the photographs in the new books have never been seen and are not on this website. Though there is a book containing 50 of his favorite photos and a book of nudes which contain new photos and photos from this website.
His photographs have appeared in magazines all over the world. He had his first gallery showing as one of three photographers at the opening exhibition of one of the first photography galleries in Los Angeles, Photosphere in 1970. He has since shown at several other galleries as well as created beautiful books of his work. Harry has a unique style and view of the world. He has very eclectic tastes and the wide variety of subjects that interest him are reflected in his photographs. He has shown his work at Art Fairs throughout the Western United States.
